Research

Master's thesis, Medical Imaging Research Center at University Hospital Leuven (UZ Leuven), Belgium
October 2020 - July 2021
  • Brought volumetric face shape data from 3D scanners to a common topology using meshmonk for 22 participants from 5 viewpoints. This allowed further analysis and work with raw data
  • Developed 3D face shape reconstruction algorithm from 2D photos using combination of 3D morphable model and deep learning approaches. Achieved face shape reconstructions with mean error of 1.55 mm


Research and teaching assistant, Nazarbayev University Human-Robot Interaction Lab, Kazakhstan
August 2019 - September 2020
  • Conducted robot-assisted sessions for children suffering from severe Autism Spectrum Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder for data collection. Interviewed therapists and parents for experiment design and evaluation.
  • Developed behaviors for NAO robots for therapeutic robot-assisted sessions for children with severe Autism Spectrum Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Resulting software was used for experiments with 21 participants at Republican Republican Children's Rehabilitation Centre.
  • Developed Ubuntu tablet software for joint dysgraphia research with EPFL CHILI Lab on ROS. The software was used to record dynamic handwriting features of 200 primary school children and results were published in Nature partner journal: Science of learning
  • Developed rules for trilingual text-to-speech engine creation and data collection
  • Produced scientific output for publishing in international journals and conferences (Nature, Paladyn, Frontiers, HRI etc.)
  • Developed and conducted lab sessions for Signals and Sensing course
